Behind Sapidus

How we put
Sapidus together.

Sapidus means roughly “flavourful”. We use our own kitchen ideas, sources and help from AI. You should be able to see what’s behind the words you read.

01

We start with an everyday question

What does it taste like? When should it go into the pot? How do fresh and dried versions differ? We start with questions that come up when we cook.

02

AI helps with the work

We use ChatGPT for drafting, structure, editing and source research. AI can get things wrong, misread a source or sound more certain than it should. You should therefore be able to trace claims back to the sources we link to.

03

You should be able to check the sources

We link to sources for factual information where relevant, so you can read further and check for yourself. A link doesn’t guarantee that the text is right. Research done with AI isn’t the same as a human expert checking the content.

04

Review and kitchen testing are different

If a human expert has checked the content, we say so. The same goes for a documented kitchen test. A published recipe hasn’t necessarily been tried at home. Testing and version notes appear with the recipe.

05

We take responsibility and correct mistakes

We correct and adjust things when we find better sources or learn something new in the kitchen. Changes to the content may also need a fresh review.

Editorial responsibility

Responsible publisher

Sapi Consulting AS is the responsible publisher of Sapidus. We take responsibility for the content we publish, including work assisted by AI.

Transparency about our process

AI is a tool

ChatGPT is used for writing and source research. AI image tools are used for illustrations. AI-assisted checks and technical checks do not replace documented human review.

“A good cook follows the recipe. A skilled cook understands the spices.”
Our virtual kitchen

Illustrations made with AI.

The food and spice images are illustrations made with AI, labelled beside the images or on the cards. They show how ingredients and dishes might look; they aren’t photographs of a documented kitchen test. Your food may look different.

The illustrations are not identification images for mushrooms or other ingredients. Use suitable expert sources when safe identification is necessary.

How to read the content

Sources, review and experience.

Recipes and guides are made with help from AI. We only confirm human expert review where we explicitly say so. A text having sources doesn’t mean a human expert has checked the whole page.

A kitchen idea, a recipe we’re working on and a documented kitchen test are different things. An earlier version may have been tested while changes in the new one haven’t been tried yet.
